Dana Geller

Dana has been an ESOL teacher for 30 years. Over this time she has formed close personal bonds with many of the families she teaches. Witnessing firsthand the trauma resulting from immigration detentions and deportations, she felt the call to do something to support her students and their families during these troubling times.

Dana ha sido maestra de ESOL durante 30 años. En este tiempo ha formado vínculos personales cercanos con muchas de las familias a las que enseña. Al presenciar de primera mano el trauma que resulta de las detenciones y deportaciones por inmigración, sintió el llamado a hacer algo para apoyar a sus estudiantes y sus familias durante estos tiempos difíciles.

Ruth Geller

A 15-year-old high school student, Ruth manages all of the technology and online presence behind the RISE Fund — the website, the digital tools, and outreach. She brings a direct connection to youth and the next generation, helping make sure the families and students who need the fund can actually find it.

Estudiante de secundaria de 15 años, Ruth gestiona toda la tecnología y la presencia en línea del RISE Fund — el sitio web, las herramientas digitales y la difusión. Silvia joined the RISE Fund to support the community of Greensboro, which has been suffering due to the many immigration arrests. These arrests are affecting the most vulnerable community members — our children. Children need their parents, for the health of the family and the health of the community.

Silvia se unió al RISE Fund para apoyar a la comunidad de Greensboro, que ha estado sufriendo debido a los muchos arrestos por inmigración. Estos arrestos afectan a los miembros más vulnerables de la comunidad — nuestros niños. Los niños necesitan a sus padres, para la salud de la familia y la salud de la comunidad.
